Challenge

The Engineering Development Board (EDB) Pakistan relied on fragmented, largely manual HR workflows: records spread across files and spreadsheets, inconsistent leave and attendance tracking, slow internal approvals, and limited visibility for administrators. The organization needed a secure, centralized platform to support day-to-day workforce administration without disrupting established governance.

What Habrig built

  • Role-aware web application for administrators and authorized staff, with clear navigation for records, leave, attendance, and approvals
  • Internal reporting views and export-friendly summaries for operational review
  • Document-oriented screens with access tied to role and department context
  • Service layer for employee records, leave policies, attendance events, and approval chains with auditable state transitions
  • PostgreSQL data model with constraints suited to institutional use and future module growth
  • Authenticated APIs with least-privilege access patterns and session hardening appropriate for internal deployment
  • Environment separation, migration discipline, and deployment practices suited to controlled institutional rollout
  • Operational logging and backup assumptions aligned with internal IT expectations

Outcomes

  • HR processes consolidated into a single internal system of record for authorized users
  • Reduced manual reconciliation between disparate sources for core employee data
  • Approval and reporting paths shortened for standard internal requests
  • A maintainable codebase and schema that can extend with additional modules over time
